Inquiry #11: Carte de Visite

1. A carte de visite was a small photographic portrait of someone, mounted on a piece of card.
2. The person who "invented", or rather patented, this was a photographer in France named Andre Aldolphe Eugene Disderi, but was first used by Louis Dodero.
3.  The carte de visite was used for trading among friends and visitors, and was placed in albums in the parlors of many homes.
