Inquiry #3: Robert Cornelius and the World's First Self Portrait

1. This self portrait was made in 1839
2. The exposure time was about 15 minutes
3. He was a chemist and photography enthusiast.  This is noteworthy because a chemist would look at the science behind photography and attempt to develop film or something of the nature, and his focus was silver/metals.
4. The photograph was originally called a "daguerreotype."
5. This photo was made in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
6. Written on the back of the image is "The first light picture ever taken."
7. He quit the photo business because he either lost interest or realized he could make more money elsewhere.
8. Robert Cornelius was 84 when he died.
9. If he would have #hashtagged his photo and posted it to Instagram, it would have said #original or #firstever.
